Lon Watson has always been a dog-lover. He works with his local animal rescue, Pound on the Hill, to help all the dogs in his area get their needed help. So, it makes sense that all the neighborhood dogs love him. They see his car pulling into the drive, and they come running.

His daughter, Catey Hall, checks in on her dad on a regular basis, and she often finds him taking a nap. It’s not just any nap, though. He is often surrounded by the dogs of the neighborhood and any strays that he’s taken in. They form one giant nap pile. He currently has four dogs living in his home along with four neighbor dogs who he has formed special bonds with.

The humans of the neighborhood don’t mind that their pups love to make the rounds and say hi to Watson. His dogs do their fair share of getting out and greeting others as well. If only we could all live in such a dog-friendly community.

With the advances in technology and conditions in recent years, many activities have moved to a virtual environment, but can you really train a dog online? Many pet parents have been giving it a try. With all the options out there, it’s worth digging into whether or not it’s working for pet owners.

Most online dog training begins with an assessment. There will either be a form to fill out or possibly a phone call or video call. If your dog is dealing with severe issues like aggression or anxiety, you might want to meet with a behavior specialist. But for most dogs, this is a great introduction to help you get started and remove some of the potential barriers.

Homemade Breath Fresheners for Dogs

You’ll need: ½ cup of fresh mint, ½ of fresh parsley, ½ cup of spinach, 1 cup of natural sugar-free yogurt, ½ cup of coconut oil, and 1 tsp organic apple cider vinegar

1. Chop and measure out all your ingredients.

2. Blend everything together using a food processor.

3. Spoon the mixture into small dog treat molds and spread evenly.

4. Freeze for one to two hours until solid.

5. Pop the treats out and give them to your dog.

6. Store extras in an airtight container in the freezer.
