How Play and Treats Help Dogs Feel Safe
Helping a reactive dog calm down doesnāt always mean strict rules or harsh corrections. Sometimes, the secret is a squeaky toy and a pocketful of treats. Trainer Karen London has seen it firsthand: when dogs learn through play, big changes happen.
One of her clients, a Corgi, used to bark and nip every time someone stood up. But when that energy was channeled into fetch, everything shifted. Now, movement means a game is about to begin, not a meltdown.
Other dogs respond better to tug-of-war or even chase games. The key is pairing the right kind of play with positive reinforcement, like a well-timed treat. Over time, these rewards build new habits and boost trust.
For dogs who bark, lunge, or snap out of fear or frustration, this playful approach turns training into connection. And for many pet parents, thatās where the real transformation starts.

Health Benefits of All-Natural Dog Treats
We think of treats as little rewards, but they can do a lot more than bring a tail wag. The right treat can support digestion, energy levels, and even healthy joints, without adding unnecessary fillers. So, how do you know whatās actually good for your dog?
Start with the ingredients list. All-natural treats made from real meat, fruits, or vegetables offer more nutritional value than those with mystery meats or artificial flavors. Some even have added benefits like omega-3s or probiotics, which can help with coat health and gut function.
And itās not just about whatās inside. Itās also how and when you give them. Used intentionally, treats can support healthy habits like training, weight management, and even dental care.
Itās a small shift that adds up. Choosing treats with real health benefits is one of the simplest ways to keep your dog feeling their best.
And letās be honest: a good treat will always light up your dogās face. The key is making sure that joy also supports their well-being.

Dodgers Game Opens With a Dog Pitch
Before Shohei Ohtani hit a home run and stole two bases in a big win over the Orioles, his dog Decoy kicked off the night. Wearing a Dodgers jersey and full of pep, Decoy carried the gameās first pitch in his mouth from the mound to home plate. Ohtani was waiting for him at home plate with open arms.
The two shared a high-five and a hug, delighting fans and sending the internet into a tailspin of heart emojis. It turns out Ohtani had been training Decoy for weeks leading up to the event. The results? Impressiveāand adorable.
Ohtani later joked about rewarding Decoy with a special snack. Considering Decoy upstaged one of baseballās biggest stars, we think he earned it.
The pupās appearance was a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected stars are the ones on four legs.
