Bernese Mountain Dog Becomes Unexpected Winter Hero
A routine winter walk turned into something unforgettable when a Bernese Mountain Dog named Bunsen suddenly bolted through deep snow and refused to come back. His family quickly realized this wasnât stubbornness. Bunsen led them across frozen farmland, pushing forward until they discovered a senior dog curled up and shivering beside a log.
The dog, later identified as Bailey, had been missing for 48 hours. Elderly and dealing with health issues, she couldnât stand on her own. Bunsenâs family carefully loaded her onto a sled and rushed her back to safety, warming her up and giving her the care she needed.
Later, they found a post online from Baileyâs worried family searching for her. Thanks to Bunsenâs instincts and determination, Bailey was reunited with the people who loved her.
Bernese Mountain Dogs are known for their strength and calm nature, but this moment showed something deeper: an incredible awareness that someone nearby needed help, and a refusal to walk away.

Dog of the Day, Charly
Meet todayâs Dog of the Day, Charly. Charly is a 5-year-old Chihuahua with a personality much bigger than her size. She loves being outside and has earned the nickname Speedy Gonzalez thanks to her lightning-fast sprints, going from zero to full zoom in just seconds. At the park, she happily races around other dogs and confidently heads straight for the big-dog fence.
When Charly isnât showing off her speed, sheâs all about affection. She loves cuddling, giving kisses, and even perching on her momâs shoulder like a parrot. Equal parts fearless and loving, Charly knows how to steal the spotlight.

Do Dogs Think Like Toddlers?
Dogs get compared to toddlers all the time, and honestly, itâs not hard to see why. Theyâre curious, emotional, deeply attached to their people, and heavily reliant on routines and positive reinforcement. Research suggests dogs share some social and learning abilities with human toddlers, especially when it comes to communication, bonding, and learning through cues and repetition.
But calling dogs âpermanent toddlersâ oversimplifies whatâs really going on. Unlike toddlers, dogs develop strong self-control, adapt to different households, and build long-term understanding through experience. They also have sensory superpowers, especially smell and hearing, that let them pick up on subtle human stress or emotional shifts that even adults miss.
Emotionally, dogs feel things like joy, fear, and anxiety, and those emotions deepen as their bond with humans grows. Still, they donât experience complex emotions like guilt or pride the way people do. In reality, dogs arenât frozen in toddlerhood. Theyâre their own kind of intelligent, emotionally tuned companions who thrive on structure, consistency, and being fully present in the moment.
