Are You a Dogtrovert?

Boogie, the French Girl, introduced the term “dogtrovert” on their Instagram account. It’s defined as “a person who would rather spend time with dogs than people.” Doesn’t everyone fall into this category? At least now we know what to call it and how to describe ourselves to others!

Nine Dog Breeds That Work as Alarm Clocks

Are you an early-morning person? Some people need an alarm clock, but if you have one of these nine breeds at home, you can completely bypass the annoying sound of beeps waking you up daily. These dogs love to be up and ready to go in the morning, so they are perfect for families that rarely sleep in.

  1. Border Collie - Collies typically wake with the sunrise since they were originally bred for herding sheep and were ready to go to work first thing in the morning. Their need for exercise makes them relentless in the morning when it comes to getting you out of bed.

  2. Golden Retriever - This family dog excels at the gentle wake-up. They will bring you a toy or quietly whine until you open your eyes and start your day.

  3. German Shepherd - This breed loves structure and routine. They take their responsibilities seriously, so if they believe they are responsible for you getting out of bed in the morning, they will make sure you aren’t sleeping in.

  4. Jack Russell Terrier - Don’t let the size fool you, these energetic little pups need activity in the morning and will be sure to use any means necessary to wake you up. You may get a lick to the face or be jumped on.

  5. Labrador Retriever - If you have kids, labs are great for helping to get them out of bed. They love pulling blankets off kids in the morning, and they are ready to play and have fun.

  6. Australian Cattle Dog - Another herding breed who loves getting up in the morning to get their exercise in for the day. You’ll likely get some nudging if you oversleep because they are ready to go.

  7. Dalmatian - Originally bred to run alongside carriages, these dogs have tons of energy. They are large pups, so it’s hard to ignore them pacing around in the morning, waiting to get outside.

  8. Beagle - This breed loves to use their nose to explore their environment and often starts their day with a good sniff around. You’ll likely feel them crawling around you, checking to see if anything had changed while they slept.

  9. Siberian Husky - It’s hard to ignore the vocal talents of huskies. They will use their voices to help them wake up in the house in the morning so they can get outside and play. Being social animals, they love it when the whole pack is reunited in the morning.

When your eyes open, there’s a good chance you’ll be greeted with a wagging tail and a big smile. These breeds will have you ready for action first thing in the morning, so make sure you go to bed early enough for a full night’s sleep.

Pup Gets Beautified With Mom

Amanda Batula is known for her role on the Bravo reality show Summer House, but her dog might just be the star of the show. While she’s getting ready for the day, her dog waits patiently to get her makeup done, too.

The dog sits sweetly by and allows Amanda to pretend to do her makeup using brushes and even an eyelash curler. Dogs just want the same pampering that we humans get. We love to see it!
