Common Foods That Arenât Dog-Friendly
We all love sharing snacks with our dogs, but some human foods can do more harm than good. Even small amounts of certain ingredients can cause serious health issues, so itâs worth knowing what to keep out of reach.
Chocolate, caffeine, grapes, onions, and xylitol (a common sugar substitute) top the danger list. These can lead to anything from vomiting to heart problems or, in severe cases, organ failure.
Nuts, raw dough, and fatty foods can also upset your dogâs stomach or even cause pancreatitis. And while dairy might seem harmless, many dogs are lactose intolerant, which can lead to digestive issues.
You donât need to panic, just stay mindful. Stick to dog-safe snacks like carrots, blueberries, or plain cooked chicken.

What to Do If Your Dog Eats Something They Shouldnât
Every dog parent knows the fearâyour pup gets into something they shouldnât. Chocolate, human medications, or even THC can all cause serious poisoning, and until now, there hasnât been much you could do at home.
Thatâs why veterinarians created ReadyRESCUEâ˘, the first-of-its-kind emergency tool for accidental pet poisonings. Using clean, easy-to-give activated carbon spheres, ReadyRESCUE⢠rapidly binds toxins in the stomach and intestines, helping limit absorption into the bloodstream.
The result? You buy life-saving time on the way to the vet. Developed by veterinary specialists, ReadyRESCUE⢠isnât a replacement for care but a critical first stepâlike a fire extinguisher for your dogâs health.
Donât wait for an emergency to wish you had it on hand.

Dog of the Day, Charley
Meet todayâs dog of the day, Charley! This wide-eyed wonder is a 5-year-old Pomsky from Portland, Oregon, where she lives her best life surrounded by fall leaves and string cheese.
Charley isnât the biggest fan of camping, but give her a tiny tent and sheâs all in. When sheâs not cozying up outdoors, sheâs the star of her agility class or keeping an eye out for her favorite people: firemen.
Thanks for sharing Charley with us, Lori! Want to see your dog featured next? Send us a photo, their name, and a few fun facts.

What Thanksgiving Foods Are Safe for Your Dog?
Thanksgiving is one of the best days of the year for sharing food, but not everything on the table is safe for your dog. The good news? You can still make your pup part of the feast with a few simple swaps and some planning ahead.
Dogs can safely enjoy plain turkey (without skin or bones), sweet potatoes, green beans, pumpkin, and squash. Just make sure theyâre cooked simply, with no salt, butter, or spices. Even a spoonful of plain cranberries is fine, as long as itâs not the sugary sauce kind.
Skip dishes like stuffing, gravy, pie, and anything with onions, garlic, or xylitol, which can be harmful. If youâre cooking, set a few ingredients aside before seasoning so your dog can join the celebration safely. After all, Thanksgiving is about family, and that definitely includes the furry ones under the table.
