Happy Monday:

…And more! ❤️

True or False?

Dogs sometimes replay favorite activities in their dreams.

Zebby the Golden Retriever’s Beach Day

Some days, dogs just seem a little off. Maybe they’re quieter than usual or not as interested in their favorite things. In a recent video, a Golden Retriever named Zebby starts out looking low-energy, almost like he’s having one of those slower days. But the moment he gets to the beach, everything shifts.

Within seconds, Zebby is running across the sand, digging with purpose, and exploring every inch of the shoreline. His body language says it all: tail wagging, ears bouncing, and that relaxed, happy expression dogs get when they’re fully in the moment. It’s a good reminder that environments can have a big impact on a dog’s mood, especially ones that offer space, new smells, and room to move.

Open areas like beaches naturally provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation, which can help dogs reset and burn off pent-up energy. For many dogs, it doesn’t take anything elaborate. Just a change of scenery and the chance to move freely can completely turn the day around.

The Hidden Risk in Common Spring Flowers

Spring walks get a lot more colorful this time of year, but not every flower your dog passes is harmless. Daffodils, one of the most common spring blooms, can actually be toxic if ingested. It’s easy to miss in the moment, especially when your dog is just sniffing or exploring like usual.

And daffodils aren’t the only ones to keep an eye on. Other spring plants like hyacinths, tulips, and certain garden bulbs can also be risky for dogs. Add in seasonal hazards like fertilizers, freshly treated lawns, and the return of fleas and ticks, and spring can come with a few more things to watch for than expected.

The good news is you don’t need to avoid it all. Just a little awareness goes a long way. Keeping your dog from nibbling plants and staying mindful of what they’re walking through can help keep those outdoor moments safe and stress-free.

Dog of the Day, Sadie

Meet Sadie, an 11-year-old Schnoodle and beloved companion of Daily Dig readers Jill and Dave.

Sadie is equal parts smart, funny, and endlessly loving: the kind of dog who somehow makes every single day feel a little better. She runs her schedule like clockwork, especially when it comes to her highly anticipated 4 pm carrot time (non-negotiable, of course).

When she’s not keeping track of snack time, Sadie enjoys a good HomeGoods outing and takes great pride in her signature hobby: unmaking every bed in the house. It’s all part of her charm.

Thank you to Daily Dig readers Jill and Dave for sharing Sadie with us. Want to see your dog featured next? Send us their photo for a chance to be our next Dog of the Day!
