Golden Retriever and Lab Find Love on a Dating App
Here's a story that will give you all the feels and hope for love! Two strangers met on a dating app and fell in love... but the real romance was between their dogsâa Golden Retriever and a Chocolate Lab.
In this sweet story, Renee shares how her love story began on Hinge. It all started with Ryanâs profile picture of him and his Golden hanging out in the car. Renee liked the photo, and Ryan messaged, âWhy do I feel like our dogs would be best friends?â Spoiler alert: he was 100% right.
The video shows just how bonded these two pups are, and it happened almost instantly. They play together at the dog park, take walks, cuddle, watch movies in bed, and even share their toys. Itâs so heartwarming, and as I watched along with millions of viewers, I think we all had the same thought: their humans can never break up now. Imagine the heartbreak if the dogs were separated! Some commenters even joked theyâre going to have to stick together... for 'the kids.' And of course, theyâll have to share custody!
Weâre happy to report that Renee and Ryanâs relationship is going strong, too. In an update, Renee confirmed that both the humans and the pups are 'just as happy as the dogs.' Hereâs to love, both human and doggy, and a happily ever after!

How to Care for Your Dog's Coat Type
Our dogsâ coats are just as unique as their personalities. Did you know there are more than five distinct coat types? Each one has a lot to love, along with its own specific way to keep it looking its best. So, letâs take it to the next level and make sure their fur gets the attention it deserves! Hereâs a breakdown of the most common dog coat types.
Smooth Coats: Short, Sleek, and Oh-So-Shiny
Smooth-coated dogs, like Dachshunds and Dobermans, have fur thatâs short and close to the body. Theyâre low-maintenance, but they still need grooming! A quick brush every now and then will keep their coat shiny and dander-free.
Grooming Tips:
Use a bristle brush against the hair growth to remove dirt.
Follow up by brushing in the direction of the hair to smooth everything out.
Bath time? Try a de-shedding shampoo if your smooth-coated pup likes to leave a little too much fur behind on the couch!
Double Coats: Double the Fluff, Double the Care
Double-coated breeds, like the ever-fluffy Husky or the Corgi, have a soft undercoat for insulation and a tougher topcoat to protect against the elements. These pups need more grooming love, especially during shedding seasonâaka your vacuumâs worst nightmare.
Grooming Tips:
Start with a slicker brush or pin brush to work through the undercoat.
Use an undercoat rake for those extra tough tangles.
Keep the topcoat looking sleek by brushing outward from the skin, and be sure to use conditioner during bath time!
Long Coats: For the Flowing Locks
Breeds like Maltese, Setters, and Afghan Hounds are undeniably stunning with their long, flowing fur, but they need daily brushing to avoid tangles. For us humans with long hair, we know all too well how unpleasant it can be to skip brushing, only to end up with a head full of knots that take a good 15-20 minutes to smooth out.
Grooming Tips:
Use a pin brush for coarse hair and a bristle brush for silky hair.
A detangling shampoo is your new best friend.
Wire Coats: Bristly, but Beautiful
Terriers, Irish Wolfhounds, and other wiry-coated dogs have a rough outer layer of fur, perfect for their rugged personality. Although their coats feel coarse and have little movement, they still need regular brushing to avoid matting.
Grooming Tips:
Use a stripping comb to thin out the undercoat and stimulate new growth.
For mats, a detangling spray is key to keeping your pup comfy.
Curly Coats: Soft, Springy Curls Everywhere
Itâs so easy to admire curly-coated dogs like Poodles and Bichon Frises for their soft, springy curls. While these curls surprisingly donât shed much, theyâre far from low-maintenance. Without regular care, those lovely locks can quickly tangle and turn into a mess before you even realize it. One of my pups doesnât exactly have a curly coat, but she does have curls behind her ears and near her cute bumâand trust me, those curls are not forgiving!
Grooming Tips:
Use a slicker brush and detangle from the skin outward to keep those curls bouncy.
Opt for a curl-specific shampoo and conditioner during bath time.
After bathing, towel-dry or blow-dry to keep their coat light and fluffy.

DOTD - Meet Freya
This is Freya with her furry kitty friend, Leo! Freyaâs favorite game is grabbing a stuffed animal and chasing Leo aroundâjust to prove sheâs not really being aggressive but playing, and also to show Leo how fast she is! Freya just turned two, and yes, Leo attended her birthday party. These two are total besties, and you canât miss Freyaâs silly, happy face! Thanks for sharing.

𩮠A Little Treat
đ€ Why is my dog: Your pup kicks their hind legs after pooping to communicate and mark their territory. Scent glands in their paws release pheromones when they kick, signaling to other dogs that theyâve been there and claimed the area.
