Halloween Tips For Your Dog
Halloween is all about candy and costumes for us, but unfortunately for pets, it can be a little overwhelming. Between bowls of chocolate, the constant doorbell rings, and kids in masks, it’s no wonder some dogs want to hide under the bed.
Chocolate and sugar-free candy are toxic, so stash treats far out of reach. If your dog joins you outside, use a reflective collar and sturdy leash to keep them visible and secure.
Doorbells and costumes can be stressful, too. Set up a quiet space with their favorite toy or chew, so they’re not overwhelmed by trick-or-treaters. If you’re tempted to dress them up, check that costumes don’t restrict movement or breathing. A simple bandana can be a good choice for dogs who don’t enjoy costumes.
For extra peace of mind, you can even create a quick Halloween checklist: A safety kit, ID tags, a reflective collar, a leash, water, and a calming distraction like a food puzzle. A little preparation can make the night safe and fun for your pup.

A Safety Kit For Halloween Hazards
Halloween is full of tricks, treats—and hidden dangers for dogs. Bowls of chocolate, candy with xylitol, and even THC edibles mean more accidental poisonings happen now than any other time of year.
That’s why veterinarians created ReadyRESCUE™, the first-of-its-kind emergency tool for pet poisonings. Using clean, easy-to-give activated carbon spheres, ReadyRESCUE™ rapidly binds toxins in the stomach and intestines, helping limit absorption into the bloodstream.
The result? You buy life-saving time on the way to the vet. Developed by veterinary specialists, ReadyRESCUE™ isn’t a replacement for care but a critical first step—like a fire extinguisher for your dog’s health.
Don’t wait until a late-night scare to realize you need it. Keep ReadyRESCUE™ on hand this Halloween and beyond.

Dog of the Day, Baby Girl
Just in time for Halloween, meet Baby Girl, a 9.5-year-old miniature long-haired dachshund. Rocking candy corn and jack-o’-lanterns like a pro, she’s clearly the queen of Halloween fashion.
Despite her age, Baby Girl’s still full of puppy energy and sweet charm. Want your dog to be featured, too? Send us a photo, a few fun facts, and their name. We’d love to spotlight your pup in Daily Dig!

The Cutest Dog-And-Owner Costume Ideas
Halloween is more fun when your dog joins the dress-up. From silly food-themed looks to timeless classics, there are plenty of ways to make your pup part of the festivities.
For a laugh, try pairing a charcuterie board costume with your dog as the cheese taster, or go all-in on a corn dog duo with your pup in a corn costume while you dress as the farmer. Movie buffs will love a Wizard of Oz look (your dog as Toto or the lion) or Batman and Robin for a superhero twist.
If you want something simple, swap in bandanas or pumpkin masks for easy photo-worthy moments. Whatever you choose, make sure your pup’s outfit is safe (nothing that blocks their vision or breathing), and never leave them unsupervised in costume. With the right getup (and a few treats), you can have a super fun and spooky Halloween together!
