Vet Bills Are PriceyāCan Insurance Help?
No one plans for a pet emergency, but when they happen, the vet bills can be overwhelming. A routine check-up may be affordable, but surgery or long-term treatment can cost thousands. Pet insurance helps ensure that financial worries donāt stand in the way of getting your pet the care they need.
Unlike human health insurance, pet insurance works on a reimbursement system. You pay the vet, submit a claim, and get reimbursed. Most policies cover accidents and illnesses, and some even include wellness visits or alternative treatments. The key is enrolling earlyāpre-existing conditions arenāt covered, so the sooner, the better.
Premiums range from $15 to $59 a month, and deductibles vary. Shopping around is essential, and tools like Pawlicy Advisor make it easy to compare plans. Even budget-conscious pet parents can find accident-only plans for as little as $10 a month.
While itās an added expense, pet insurance can be a lifesaverāliterally. It allows you to focus on your petās health instead of worrying about the cost. If you want the freedom to say āyesā to the best care possible, having coverage is worth considering.

This Pup Went All In for a SnackāLiterally
Some dogs will do anything for a treatābut Lil Murphy took it to the next level. The Wisconsin pup got his head stuck in a Milk-Bone container while trying to get the last bite. After an hour of struggling, his owners decided they needed backup.
With their vetās office closed, they made a quick decision and drove straight to the Whitefish Bay police station. Officers jumped in to help, carefully using scissors to cut the container away. A video captured the tense moment as Lil Murphy panted inside the jar, waiting for his big escape.
Finally, the last piece came off. The relieved pup wiggled free, his tail wagging as the humans cheered, āYay, we did it!ā
Lil Murphyās adventure is a good reminderādogs will always go the extra mile for a snack. Maybe just keep the treat jars out of reach!

DOTD: Meet Indy!
Meet Indy, the 12-pound dynamo with a heart of gold! At 8 years old, this sweet Chihuahua mix found herself in need of a new homeābut lucky for her (and her human!), fate had other plans. What was supposed to be a temporary foster situation quickly turned into a third-time foster failābecause who could resist that face?
Indy may be small, but sheās got big energy when it comes to her favorite game: fetch! If she had her way, sheād play ball all day, every dayāand honestly, she might just convince her human to go along with it. With her playful spirit and loving personality, itās no wonder she wiggled her way into a forever home.
Hereās to Indy living her best lifeāfilled with endless games of fetch, belly rubs, and all the love she deserves! š¾ā¤ļø
