Scrim, New Orleans’ most elusive pup, is finally off the streets—and into the arms of his rescuers. This 17-pound mutt became a local legend after months of dodging nets, tranquilizers, and the best efforts of an entire city trying to bring him home. His escapes even included a daring leap from a second-story window that turned him into an internet sensation.

Throughout his time on the run, Scrim survived everything from hurricanes to freezing cold, covering a whopping 57 square miles. Volunteers used wildlife cameras and crowdsourced maps to track his movements, proving just how determined both sides were in this epic chase.

In the end, it was a humble cat trap that ended Scrim’s adventure. Michelle Cheramie, who leads Zeus' Rescues, made it her mission to bring him to safety—and she succeeded. After a bath and a check-up, Scrim was finally able to relax under warm blankets with his newfound human friends.

Now, with a GPS collar and an AirTag, Scrim’s days of adventure are officially over. His next stop? A forever home where long walks and quiet naps replace narrow escapes.

Henry, a spirited chihuahua from San Diego, gave drivers quite the shock when he sprinted for miles down the busy 5 Freeway. Dodging cars and weaving through traffic, this tiny escape artist managed to bring traffic to a standstill as strangers tried—unsuccessfully—to catch him.

Witnesses watched in disbelief as Henry zipped between vehicles, seemingly unfazed by the chaos around him. Despite countless good Samaritans attempting to help, Henry’s speed and determination kept him just out of reach for what felt like forever.

The chase finally ended when Henry sought shelter under an SUV. A quick-thinking bystander seized the moment and safely scooped him up. Fortunately, the San Diego Humane Society quickly reunited Henry with his relieved family.

Incredibly, Henry emerged from his freeway adventure without a scratch—though he did end up sporting a protective cone after a routine neutering at the shelter. His family is grateful to the many strangers who put their safety on the line to help bring their little speedster home.
