A Fall Health Checklist For Your Dog
Fall isnāt just for pumpkins and cozy walks. Itās also a great time to check in on your dogās health. As the weather cools and routines shift, preventive care helps keep them feeling their best.
An annual exam covers more than vaccines. It can flag early dental issues, catch changes in weight, and give your vet a baseline for whatās ānormalā in your pup. Since dogs age faster than we do, a year can bring more changes than you might expect.
At home, tools like smart collars can add another layer of care. By tracking activity and even sleep patterns, they help spot shifts you might not notice day to day. Pairing tech with a seasonal checkup keeps your dog ready for every fall adventure, whether thatās chasing leaves or curling up by the fire.

Dog of the Day, Tuxedo
Meet Tuxedo, aka Tux, a 4-year-old Portuguese Water Dog whoās always got his eye on the action. In honor of National Black Dog Day, Daily Dig reader Maggie shared this sweet, smart, and swim-loving pup.
Tux knows the best seat in the house is wherever he can oversee the entire household. Curious by nature and full of personality, this handsome boy is equal parts lifeguard, watchdog, and best friend. Heās also a proud Yankees and Ohio State fan.
Got a pup with a big personality? Send in their name, a picture, and a short description. Weād love to feature them in an upcoming Dog of the Day!

The Perfect Lazy Dog Day
Not every dog dreams of long hikes or endless games of fetch. Some are happiest with a comfy spot, a few good snacks, and you nearby. Planning a day around your dogās love for lounging can be just as fun as an adventure.
Start with cozy spaces. A supportive bed or blanket fort gives your pup the perfect nap station, and rotating between a few spots keeps things interesting. Mental toys like food puzzles or lick mats can add enrichment without requiring a burst of energy.
And donāt underestimate the value of joining in. Curl up beside them, share quiet time, and make treats part of the experience. Sometimes the best way to connect with your dog is simply slowing down together.
