Rescued Bichon Frise Finds His Happy Ending

When Finn was rescued from a puppy mill, he didn’t know how to be a dog. The tiny Bichon Frise had spent his life confined to a crate, only taken out for breeding. When Atlanta-based Angels Among Us rescued him, along with 700 other dogs, he was frail, afraid, and unsure what love even felt like.

Then came Lizzie and Alex, who took Finn in as a foster pup. Slowly, with patience (and help from their other dog, Felix), Finn learned what it meant to play, explore, and trust again. Felix showed him how to be brave, and soon the two were inseparable.

Today, Finn is living proof that love can rewrite even the hardest pasts. His family calls him “the happiest, most grateful animal,” and says adopting him was the best decision they’ve ever made.

Dog of the Day, Tia Maria

Tia Maria, the spirited miniature schnauzer from Victoria, B.C., is ready for Halloween! Dressed to impress in her skeleton sweater, she loves greeting everyone she sees with tail wags and spooky sweetness.

Daily Dig reader Michele says Tia takes her greeter duties seriously, especially when it comes to welcoming four-legged trick-or-treaters.

Want your dog featured in an upcoming issue? Send us a photo, their name, and a few fun facts, and your pup might be our next Dog of the Day!

The Rewards Card Made Just for Pet Parents

Vet bills aren’t getting any cheaper. Costs have jumped more than 60% in the last decade, and pet owners are feeling it. But one new card is actually helping lighten the load.

The Nibbles Pet Rewards Credit Card offers 3x rewards on pet purchases—from vet visits to toys—and even includes free pet insurance for one eligible pet, with no annual fee. It’s a smart way to save while keeping your best friend happy and healthy. Fees, terms, and conditions apply.

Thank you to Nibbles for sponsoring Daily Dig.

Breed Spotlight: Bichon Frise

Don’t let the Bichon Frise’s size fool you. This little white cloud of a dog has a big personality and a royal past. Once adored by kings and queens, the Bichon has entertained nobility, sailors, and even circus crowds with its playful charm and intelligence.

Underneath that soft, curly coat (which needs regular grooming) is a lively, affectionate companion who loves to be part of the family. Bichons are gentle with kids, friendly with other pets, and happiest when they’re the center of attention. They often show off their “Bichon Blitz,” a joyful burst of zooming energy around the house.

Though they don’t shed much, Bichons need consistent brushing and grooming to keep their coats healthy. They thrive on company and can get anxious when left alone for long periods, so they’re best suited for homes where someone’s often around. With love, care, and plenty of cuddles, this “curly lap dog” will return the favor tenfold.
