Have A Self-Care Movie Night With Your Pup

These cooler fall nights are perfect for bringing back weekly movie nights. And is there anything better than cuddling with your pup on the couch, especially when they watch the TV with you? Itā€™s the perfect way to relax, enjoy some self-care, and even find something your pup might like too. Enter: rom-coms with dogs. Get ready to snuggle up for a cozy movie night filled with laughter, love, and pups on the screen!

Puppy Love

You might not have heard of this one yet, but it should definitely be on your watchlist! This newer rom-com has quickly become one of my favorites. Itā€™s not just a love story for the humans but for their dogs too. After a disastrous first date, main characters Nicole and Max plan to never see each other againā€”until they find out their dogs have fallen in love, and now puppies are on the way. Itā€™s sweet, funny, and filled with dogs on the screen.

Legally Blonde

Legally Blonde always makes its way onto top movie lists, and for good reason. Elle Woodsā€™ adorable Chihuahua, Bruiser, is her loyal companion through thick and thin. Bruiser represents Elleā€™s strength and determination as she tackles law school and life. Heā€™s an unforgettable character, and your pup will think so too!

Marley & Me

This is a classic in the world of dog movies, with Marley stealing the show. Your pup will likely relate to all of Marleyā€™s mischievous moments, and when the tear-jerker ending hits (because we all know it's coming), your dog will be right there for comfort. Donā€™t forget to give them an extra tight hug!

The Proposal

There are so many reasons to love The Proposal, and Kevin, the fluffy American Eskimo, is one of them. One of the movieā€™s funniest moments involves Kevin being swooped up by an eagle (donā€™t worryā€”heā€™s okay!). His tiny, high-pitched bark is guaranteed to catch your dogā€™s attention and spark some adorable head tilts.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Krull, the quirky Chinese Crested, beautifully highlights how main characters Ben and Andieā€™s ability to care for him together strengthens their bond. Dogs really do bring out the best in us, donā€™t they? Krull is hilariously adorable and makes this rom-com that much better.

I think Iā€™m ready for a rewatch of all these movies now! Do you have any favorite rom-coms featuring dogs? Let us knowā€”weā€™d love to add your recommendations to our list!

5 Best Apps for Dog Parents

Thereā€™s an app for everything these daysā€”even for us dog parents. Honestly, Iā€™m surprised it took me this long to think about looking up apps as a lifelong dog lover. Have you? Whether youā€™re planning an adventure, handling an emergency, or wondering if your pup can eat that slice of avocado you just dropped, thereā€™s an app. Here are some of the best apps that every dog parent should have on their phone!

  1. BringFido

Looking to take your dog on a vacation or a fun day out? BringFido is amazing at helping you find all the dog-friendly spots, no matter where you are. This app lets you search for dog-friendly hotels, restaurants, parks, beaches, and even events in the U.S. and Canada. Plus, it includes reviews from other dog parents, which is super helpful if you like getting different perspectives before committing. Itā€™s the perfect app when youā€™re exploring a new area with your pup!

  1. Pet First Aid by the American Red Cross

Accidents happen, but with the Pet First Aid app, youā€™ll know exactly what to do. From CPR to bandaging and recognizing symptoms of illness, this app offers step-by-step guides, videos, and illustrations to walk you through common emergencies. It even helps you find nearby vets if you need one in a hurry. This app is a must-have for dog parents who like to be prepared for worst-case scenarios and just want peace of mind. Having quick, reliable advice at your fingertips is invaluable if anything ever happens to your pup.

  1. BarkHappy

Need new dog-loving friends or looking for playmates for your pup? BarkHappy is like social networking for dogs! You can find local dog parents and connect for playdates, join dog-friendly events, and even send ā€œwagsā€ (doggy hellos) to new matches. The app also features an interactive map of dog-friendly places. This is a fun one.

  1. Dog Scanner

This oneā€™s a fun app if you wonder about your rescue pupā€™s breed mix (and honestly, who isnā€™t?). Dog Scanner uses just a photo to identify your dogā€™s breedā€”or even that cute pup you met at the park. It provides detailed breed info, so you can learn all about your dogā€™s history, size, and characteristics. Itā€™s perfect for dog parents who want to know everything about their fur babies. And personally, I like to use this to imagine how they looked as tiny, itty-bitty puppies. So precious!

  1. Doggy Time

For new puppy parents trying to stay organized, Doggy Time is a lifesaver. This app helps you track all aspects of your dogā€™s careā€”potty time (super helpful for potty training!), meal times, vet visits, medications, and more. Whatever youā€™re tracking, this app keeps everything in one place, making it easy to stay on top of your pupā€™s routine.

Chocolate Labrador Meets Her Mini-Me

Seven-year-old Chocolate Labrador, Acadia (also known as Cadie), got quite the surprise when she opened a mystery gift box and found a mini version of herself insideā€”a 10-week-old English Chocolate Lab puppy named Nami. Both pups, with matching pink collars, wagged their tails the moment they met.

Cadie had a sweet and gentle demeanor with Nami from the first sniff. In no time, Cadie even started sharing her toys, showing just how quickly she accepted her new little sister. If thatā€™s not love at first sight, I donā€™t know what is!

Their human parents shared the touching story behind the surprise. ā€œWe always knew we would get Cadie another sibling,ā€ they explained. ā€œBut we wanted to wait until the time was right. After our other Chocolate Lab passed away about a year ago, Cadie seemed a little lonely. We thought getting her own puppy would be the perfect gift.ā€

Cadieā€™s gentleness had already been proven during her time with a foster breeding program for service dogs, where she gained experience as a mother. Her parents had no doubt she would welcome Nami with open paws. ā€œCadie was a great mom to her previous litters, so we knew she would be gentle and kind with our new puppy,ā€ they shared.

Now, Cadie and Nami are the perfect pairā€”two chocolate Labs with wagging tails, ready for a lifetime of playful adventures and sibling love.
