Shelter Dog Finds Her Little Best Friend
When 6-year-old Sage met Piper at a Niagara SPCA and Humane Society adoption event, the connection was immediate. Piper, a brown Labrador mix with one eye, ran right up to her with a wagging tail, and Sage spent the rest of the afternoon smiling, playing, and staying close to her new friend.
The family went home to talk things over, but Sage could not stop thinking about Piper. When they returned for a second visit, it was pouring rain, but that did not slow either of them down. Piper rushed to the gate as soon as she saw Sage, then ran out to play with her like they had known each other forever.
Sage’s dad quickly fell for Piper too, and the family made it official. Now Piper is settling into home life with walks, stuffed toys, cozy sleep, and a little girl who knew from the start that this was her dog.

Why Your Dog Loves Leaning On You
If your dog likes to lean against your leg, curl into your side, or gently press their body into you, they may be saying more than “please don’t move.” For many dogs, leaning is a form of closeness, comfort, and connection, almost like their version of holding hands.
Dogs often use touch to bond with the people they trust. A relaxed lean can be a sweet sign of affection, especially if your pup is calm, loose, and happy to be near you. Some dogs also lean because they have learned it gets them attention, pets, belly rubs, or a few extra minutes with their favorite person.
Leaning can also be a way for anxious dogs to feel more secure. If it comes with pacing, trembling, drooling, tucked tail, or clingy behavior, your dog may need extra support. Most of the time, though, a dog leaning on you is simply a subtle little reminder that you are their safe place.

Beach Safety Tips For Dog Parents
A beach day with your dog can be one of summer’s best little adventures, especially if your pup loves new smells, soft sand, and splashing near the shore. But not every dog is a beach dog, so it helps to plan around their comfort level, energy, and swimming confidence.
Before you go, check the beach rules, leash requirements, and dog-friendly hours. Pack fresh water, shade, waste bags, pet-safe sunscreen, and a life jacket if your dog will be near the water. Reliable recall and a solid “leave it” cue also matter, since beaches can come with tempting hazards like seaweed, sand, wildlife, dead fish, and other people’s snacks.
Once you’re there, keep a close eye on heat, hot sand, rough waves, and how tired your dog seems. A walk along the shore, a game of fetch in a quiet spot, or a quick splash together can be plenty. The best beach days are the ones where your dog feels safe, supervised, and happy to shake half the ocean onto you afterward.

What happens when you throw out the GTM playbook
That investor was wrong. Gamma is now worth $2B, with 50M users and more than half their growth driven by word of mouth.
They're one of 6 AI-native startups in HubSpot for Startups' free Bold Bets Playbook. Replit grew revenue 50x after half the team pushed back on the strategy. Ramp generated 100M+ views from a single stunt. Clay's co-founder wouldn't hang up a sales call until the prospect DMed him in Slack.
Each one took a GTM risk most founders would never greenlight. Each one paid off.
