If you’ve ever caught your dog racing in circles, chasing their tail, or munching on grass, you’re not alone. Dogs have a quirky side, and as it turns out, many of their odd habits have fascinating explanations.

Take the “zoomies” for example—those sudden bursts of energy where your dog sprints like they’ve just won the lottery. It’s their way of releasing happiness and pent-up energy. Only healthy and content dogs get the zoomies, so if your pup does this it’s a good sign you’re doing things right.

Then there’s tail-chasing. While occasional spinning might just be playfulness, excessive circling could signal health issues, like an ear infection or even neurological concerns. If your dog’s chasing their tail too often it might be worth a vet visit.

And what about grass-eating? While it might seem strange, it’s an instinct tied to their ancestors. Dogs may nibble grass to aid digestion or simply because they like the taste. However, it’s best to discourage the habit—it can irritate their stomach or even require medical attention if they eat too much.
